End of another season

I am beyond proud of this girl tonight! She has had some major bumps and bruises along the way of her soccer season, but this year she grew leaps and bounds. She ended up scoring three goals in the season, her first three ever, and her ball control and field confidence improved immensely.

Tonight was the last game of the season. Unfortunately, the other team did not show up. A crummy way to end a season, but it is ok. Mr T's pizza to soothe our sadness. :)
My girl! My Moo!

Young to the rescue

I wasn't working today at the office, I was working from home. I ran by the office for a 90 second "swing by" and...locked my keys in the van. I called Jase and, I know he would have helped if I got desperate, he asked me to try to figure something else because he was on the other side of town.

I went back inside and told Young what happened and, no big surprise, he came to my rescue. My driver side window was cracked. Not cracked enough that we could get the button pressed on my door, but Young stuck a pole across to the other door and pressed the unlock button. *phew*
I often like to ride with my windows down. Jase does not love this about me, but I quickly sent him a text telling him how good it was that I like to have my windows down. :)

I *heart* R+F

I really do love Rodan + Fields.

Freckles and Eyelashes

My son, Mac, has always had the longest eyelashes. And, not just long, but thick.

Tonight, he and I were the only ones that went to Mollee's game. As I was snuggled up with him (because the boy loves to be close), I noticed all these adorable freckles. Don't remember them, don't know where they came from, but I like them!

OCD Capps

At Mollee's game tonight, we had some lollipops. Capps couldn't eat the one on the right because the stick was bent. It was really a bummer.

Sunday Afternoon Crossword Puzzle

Life is so crazy right now. With older kids with "big kid schedules", we just have to re-group each Sunday, look at the next week together and prepare for more chaos. I love it and I know when the kids are grown, I'll enjoy the quietness, but I'll also miss the craziness.

I know many believe we see Papa and Grandma often because they live a few doors down, but right now, as life gets crazy, we just see them in the yard and wave while driving by and we get to sit with them in the pew on Sunday.

Today was great because we were able to go back to "old times" and eat dinner together and then sit on the deck and do the crossword, something Jason and I did with Dad every Sunday prior to kids.
The weather was great too! It was a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon.

Now...back to chaos!

Breakfast with R.V.

R.V. Brown spoke at church this morning.
We are fairly certain his arms are as big as Mac's waist.

Family Movie Night

It has been awhile since we had a Family Movie Night. Too long!

Tonight we watch Captain American: Civil War

Candy of the night: Runts
 Movie rating: INCREDIBLE!

A visit with the Isaacs

I was off today and I stopped in to see the Isaac girls for a minute. I brought bubble wands because my days of impressing children with bubbles is over.
Got to hang out and snuggle with this new little one.
And I got to make Lilly look like Elsa.
And, since I was heading to Target, who doesn't want a cute little girl to join them? It was a great afternoon. We got popcorn. We shopped. We looked at toys. Lilly talked non-stop for three hours...and I loved it!
And, Aunt Ganch had to buy some My Little Ponies too.  Just because. That is what aunts do.

My knee

Daegan and I got up most mornings this summer and either did yoga or aerobics and weights. At some point in July, my right knee was really hurting, but I assumed it was just another "excuse" to stop exercising. So, I pushed through.

Finally, I told Daegan I needed to take a break to rest my knee. I rested and I never went back to exercising. My knee hurt from time to time, but it is typically my MO to ignore the pain and move on.

After two nights of not being able to ignore the pain, I decided to go to the walk-in orthopedic office that I had been to before a couples years earlier when I broke my foot but tried to ignore it.

My xray looked fine, no arthritis, but because of my range of motion and where the pain was, the doctor was concerned I ripped my meniscus. I was scheduled for an MRI the next week.

Thankfully, the meniscus wasn't ripped, which would have required surgery, but the ligament behind my kneecap was torn a little. I am now wearing a brace and suppose to take it easy for four weeks. If it is still bothering me after that, I'll probably get a steroid shot.

I grow weary of medical issues and have to constantly remind myself it could be much worse. I do not have white-coat-phobia, it is more of medical bill phobia.

Now, I must get to a dentist soon or I'll only be eating yogurt and oatmeal the rest of my life...

"Small" Hike

Since my knee is hurt, and since Jason is one of the Youth Group teachers, he got to go on the hike today with the two high schoolers and two middle schoolers. 5 miles in Cloudland Canyon isn't as easy as it sounds. And, it sounds like it was very good I didn't go.
He was a good man and got me at least one picture!

My Sunday Date

Jason and the older kids went on a hike after church today, so this 9-yr old took me on a date. To his favorite restaurant...which also feeds kids for free on the weekends.
I miss my days at home with just my Haynes.
 Thankful for some one-on-one time.

9-11

15 years later and it still is unbelievable.

Roo Cups

I've been wanting to get some Roo Cups for awhile, but didn't have the money to spend $7.99 on each one. I ran into the gas station the other day for something quick and the lady was trying to get rid of them. She sold me these for $3.99, for the lot.

At 29 cents a refill, seemed like a great deal!

Tavis and Babies

This boy loves babies. He is such a rough and crazy kid, but so sweet and tender.
Here with cousin, Zoe.

Two Goals

This girl has had a rough 5-year soccer career. In 6th grade, she played, having never played before, with friends and classmates that had played since they were 5. In 7th grade, Mom wrote down the wrong date and she missed try-outs. And, in 8th grade, she was cut from the team. Very, very rough.

For some reason, a reason that makes me very proud of her, she didn't give up. She tried out in 9th grade, made it on JV, and played an ok season. With me working this summer, she didn't make it to many of the summer practices and we didn't have money for the camp, so she didn't get to attend that either.

But, this has been a year of growth. Growth in many ways (mentally, emotionally, etc.) and soccer is no different. She has played hard. She has learned to dribble the ball...with her speed, something that tripped her up often last year.

Tonight, the coach decided to put her on the front line. Fun to watch, and she scored two goals! She dribbled all the way in, curved in toward the goal and shot. GOAL!
I am so proud of her. Proud of her determination. Proud of her success. Proud of her attitude.

My "Other" Job

Some of you have never heard of Rodan + Fields. Some of you are tired of hearing about Rodan + Fields.  Some of you, thankfully, many of you, use the products and can't believe how awesome they are. Some of you are really interested but haven't taken the leap. Some of you are curious about the business, but haven't investigated for one reason or another.

I work full time at the church, but my "other" job is Rodan + Fields. And I LOVE IT!
If you had asked me two years ago, which Susan (my upline leader) actually did, I would have said "no way". I had no time, I had no money to start a new business. Being a tired mom, I had no ambition to it. I sold MK for ten years, liked the product ok, but the business side was stressful. I didn't really make a lot of money, I just enjoyed the discount on the products I had used for a decade.

I prayed about starting R+F for many, many months. Susan didn't push me, but she checked in every 3 or 4 months, and something in me finally clicked. My prayers gave me a peace about it and I, honestly, felt the Lord urging me to start this business. Plus, my husband, the most supportive man I know, pushed me 'a little' to go for it!

I'm feeling grateful and I am not looking back! When I started to use the products, I couldn't believe how incredible they were. Honestly, like nothing I'd ever used before. I knew I could sell R+F because I believed in it. I loved, loved the way my face was healing and glowing and aging backwards.

So, 14 months later, I kicked it into high gear for August. I've made different goals each month and this one was a huge goal I was pushing for, but I pushed myself, with the encouragement of my team members. It is so refreshing to sell something you really do love and believe in. I get emotional stories from my clients often of how these products have really changed their skin and their confidence.

My Rodan + Fields family is refreshing. We are not against each other, we are family. My team and upline are beyond supportive. We have private groups on Facebook to help encourage each other and help answer questions if people have questions. We share ideas. We share products when needed. There are many, many training opportunities. But - this is MY business. I run it how I want to run it. I feel in control of me and I don't feel pressured to perform in a certain way (except for the pressure I put on myself). I fit it into my crazy lifestyle. Everything is ordered online, so I don't have the stress of inventory either.

So, August. A good month for me. My upline leaders, four generations up, posted numbers today. I got an honorable mention on the Top 10 list. Out of 470 consultants, I got #11. So, so, so excited!

Excited to see the future of R+F because this company is booming. We've already surpassed some big names (eg. Lancome) and are the #2 Premium Skincare Company in the US and the #1 Premium Anti-Aging Company and the #1 Acne Treatment. I know this sounds like a commercial, but I am a stats person, and this is all amazing for such a young company. And I am so excited to be a part of it.

So, I am thankful today. Thankful for Susan for being patient with me. Thankful for my husband and all his support on every endeavor. Thankful for the R+F family and all the encouragement they given me. But, most importantly, thankful to my Heavenly Father for giving me the peace to Go For It!
