Fwip-Fwops!

I took the kids today (with David - yes, six-in-tow) to Old Navy to get flip flops. Mollee needed some, but really, it is nice for everyone to have a pair for a quick pair of shoes - and how can you beat the $2.50 price?

Last year, I bought Mac some and he never wanted to wear them, so I hadn't planned to get him a pair. Flip flops aren't for everyone - Jason and Daegan refuse to wear them! But the big kids were picking out some, so he wanted some too - of all the designs they had, he picked solid orange! For now, he is very proud of his 'fwip fwops', we'll just have to see how long that lasts!

Memorial Day 2011 = HOT!

**HA - I originally had 2010 on this title, still a year behind......

We were invited to a Memorial Day pool party/birthday party. Jason worked, because when you are self-employed, if you don't work, you don't get paid. So, I took the kids and only stayed for half the time.

It was sooooo H-O-T!!! So the pool was a nice treat!

Mac had no fear on the diving board. Daegan had no shame what he looked like.

Capps had no cares that he played in the corner by himself. And Mollee and Tavis....I just can't think of something to go along with this theme!Any suggestions?

My Julie!

Julie and I met each other in 2nd grade, almost 30 years ago. It wasn't until 5th grade that I can remember really becoming friends. Not sure if that is because of my memory or because that is when we started going to the same school.

So many memories! I pray that Mollee finds a friend like I have in Julie. You know, the person that can make you laugh with one look or word because of some inside joke. Or the one that you don't mind crying in front of over something stupid. Or the one that you spend every weekend with. Or the one that even if you don't see each other that often, when you do get together, it is like you were never apart.

That is my Julie.

We've always lived in the same town, even though our lives seemed to be involved in different things. That is, until a year ago when her husband took a job about 5 hours away. *sniff*

Today we got to hang out!Lunch with the gangAnd just for memory sake - Our Senior Prom!*don't go on a blind date with someone as your prom date when you are in a fight with your 'boyfriend' *

I'm just sayin'!

The Twins

Lydia and Annacame to eat dinner with us tonight, and the rest of the family!

EllaCapps and Micheala - the kindergarten grads!
Mollee with ?? - sorry, I don't know which is which?Christopher and Mac being dudes!I love that my boys love babies and kids, it is such a joy to watch. They were racing to see which baby finished their bottle first. Tavis and Lydia won by a long shot, but Daegan didn't give up on Anna!A wonderful evening catching up with friends....

Where a kid can be a kid!

When I was a kid, it was Showbiz! Now it is Chuck E. Cheese.

We always take the kids there for a last day of school celebration. This year, we invited Dusty and Rachel to come with us - a Great Idea! Mollee gets tickets by being a jumper!!For Daegan, it is all about the tickets, and he played right here for a chance of the jackpot, which he got and then the game stopped working. Note to self: do not take Daegan to Vegas!Jason used two coins at this game and stood here at least 20 minutes.I don't have many pictures of Capps because he is a hoarder saver, every time I went to go see what he was playing, he just couldn't decide. Mollee convinced him to team up with her a few times.Mac liked to walk around putting coins in games and then walking off - I think I remember this from last year? And the mohawks shooting baskets (there was a surprising number of kids with mohawks at CEC tonight?)So, it is expensive and loud and takes forever for the kids to spend their tickets (on items that Moriah would throw away by the next morning), but they love it! And we only do it once a year!

M-O-H-A-W-K-S

The boys have been bugging me for over a month to get a mohawk. OK, mostly Daegan. I told them I didn't know how that would be viewed at school, but I'd cut one as soon as school was out. Then Carson got one and they couldn't believe they had to wait!

Today was the day!

I feared Daegan's previous hair cut was too short, but it ended up being perfect! I love it!!!

Tavis said he wanted one too, but I didn't think he'd really go thru with it. He did say he didn't want it shaved to the skin like Daegan's on the side, but his top hair was too long. He let me spike it oncebut had me cut the top a little bit.Not sure how long he'll keep it? But Daegan loves his, and so do I.

(before Tavis' top trim)

Now Daegan wants me to add colors to his spikes. Hmmmm.

Schools Out...

...let the swimming begin! Mac still has no fear around the water!Mollee was trying to teach Tavis to dive (squatting first, just like she was taught at swim lessons)The Monkey Hair is coming in nicely! The first two hours of Summer Break were spent at the pool - NICE!

Last Day of School

My last breakfast with a kindergartner, a 1st grader, a 3rd grader and a 4th grader. At 3:05 today I'll have a 1st grader, a 2nd grader, a 4th grader and a 5th grader.

Can you say H-O-T?!

Today was all about our kindergartner!
They had their Spanish Program today
(don't you love that toothless grin)Along with two songs from choir and an explanation from the art teacher what they have done this year.

Then I ate lunch with Capps and Goodwin, Daegan and LukeThen it was time for Kindergarten Field Day. It is too much for them to have Field Day the same day as the 1st-5th graders, so they have their own day.

I got Mollee and Tavis out of class to cheer for Capps, Daegan had a party going on in his class and he hates the heat, so I left him in class. It was HOT!!!The Parade through school - and all the big kids stand on the edges to cheer on the kindergarten.
Capps and Keegan were a pair - the kids did the different activities in twos!Capps did great at the football throw. Not so grand at yolf (yard golf)He enjoyed the soccerThis one, not sure what it was called, but he kept throwing his way too high!

And then, the big 4-way tug-o-war!

Did I mention how hot it was? Goodness gracious, it was miserable!

How awesome it is to have everyone gather for a prayer afterwards!

I decided we'd get half-priced slushies from Sonic on the way home and guess what, our Sonic's slushie machine was not working - it hasn't been working the past four times we've been??? Normally, I'd say forget it and go home, but today we all needed a cool down so we drove to another one.

(I was going to avoid the slushies to avoid the calories, but tried the Low-Cal Cherry Limeade, it wasn't that bad and it was only 10 calories instead of 180!)

And when we got home, I got out a "sprinkler" that I had bought for $2.99 at the end of last season.
1 more day!
